There is no better way to unwind than to settle to see a movie with a large bowl of popcorn and drinks. It works every time! I for one, I love seeing movies always especially romantic ones. So in this article, I took my time to pick out 20 foreign romantic movies you should see this year.

20) Isn't It Romantic? (2019)

A young woman unfortunate with love mysteriously finds herself trapped inside a romantic comedy.

Imagine waking up to a different world where everything is completely different including your life, crazy! This movie will also leave you rolling in laughter, you should see it.

19) The Last Summer(2019)

A romantic comedy that centres on high school graduates who wrestle with love and companionship during their final summer together before heading to college. One thing I love about this movie is that it is star-studded. 

18) Set It Up (2019) 

Two personal assistants of very demanding bosses took it upon themselves to hook their bosses up as love interests. This plan was to get the bosses off their backs, but fate turned out to be unexpected.

17) Cooking Up Christmas (2020)

An Atlanta-based chef gets sacked just weeks before Christmas and reluctantly takes a job with a professional baseball player who is a single father of three and needs a live-in-chef to get him through the holidays with the children. The love chemistry was magical!

16) My Sweet Holiday(2020)

This movie is about a lady who decided to spend Christmas with her family when her ex-boyfriend cancelled plans they had. On arrival, she finds out they've sold the family's beloved chocolate store to a stranger who knows nothing about chocolate. Begrudgingly, her father convinces her that she'd be the obvious choice to help teach the new owner everything she knows about chocolate. In the middle of everything, she finds love when she least expected it.

15) To All The Boys I've Loved Before (2018)

To All the Boys I've Loved Before is a 2018 American teen romance film directed by Susan Johnson, based on the 2014 novel of the same name by Jenny Han.

Lara Jean Covey writes letters to all of her past loves, the letters are meant for her eyes only. Until one day when all the love letters are sent out to her previous loves. Her life is soon thrown into chaos when her foregoing loves confront her one by one.

There is also a sequel titled To All The Boys I've Loved before P.S I Still love you.

14) Midnight Sun (2018)

Midnight Sun focuses on a young girl of seventeen who suffered from a deadly skin disease as a reaction to the sun. As a result of this, she lived her whole life sheltered and spends most of the day indoors. Things changed when she meets Charlie during summer vacation, fate intervenes and love finds them.

13) Falling Inn Love (2019)

When city girl Gabriela spontaneously enters a contest and wins a rustic New Zealand inn, she teams up with bighearted contractor Jake Taylor to fix and flip it - Netflix.

12) The Princess Switch (2018)

One week before Christmas, Margaret, the elegant Duchess of Montenaro, switches places with Stacy, a "commoner" from Chicago, who looks exactly like her. With the assistance of a magical Santa's helper, Margaret falls in love with Stacy's handsome co-worker, while Stacy falls in love with Margaret's fiance, the dashing Prince.

There is also a sequel titled: The Princess Switch: Switched Again.

11) The Kissing Booth ( 2018)

A romantic comedy where a high school teenager is forced to confront her crush in a kissing booth. Her crush happens to be her best friend's brother so she is torn between betraying her friendship or saving it. 

There is also a sequel 'The Kissing Booth Part 2". The plot twist is crazy where the new characters (Macro and Chloe) were brought Into the story. The movie is so compelling. It is a must-watch!

10) Love Takes Flight (2019)

Based on a true story, Love Takes Flight stars Nikki DeLoach as Lizzie Beauman, a single mom and hospital manager who falls for the new EMS pilot Charlie at work. 
I loved watching the little girl who played the role of 'Quinn', Lizzie's daughter. She is so cute.

9) Love, Guaranteed (2020)

Susan, A devoted lawyer takes on a new client that wants to sue a dating website because it guarantees love. She did this to save her small firm, but as the case heats up, so does their feelings for each other.

8) For The Love Of Jesse (2020)

The Romantic Drama is about a man Matthew, whose life came crashing down when his wife died after the birth of his daughter, Jesse. When he hired Sage as his nanny, they realised that the best form of therapy was letting go and finding love again.

7) The Perfect Date (2019)

When a high school student faces financial problems, he creates an app to stand in as a fake date for ladies so he can make money for college. His plan gets complicated when he had feelings for someone he least expected.

6) Always A Bridesmaid (2019)

A young lady, Corina is always asked to be a bridesmaid at everybody's wedding. She begins to wonder whether she will keep being a bridesmaid or whether her prince charming comes and sweeps her off her feet. What do you think is her fate?

Her life takes a new turn. For Kate, it seems too good to be true. There is also a shocking revelation about Tom which left her dejected.

1) Life In A Year (2020)

The Movie follows a 17year old Daryn who finds out that his girlfriend lived with cancer and had one more year left. He vowed to make the best out of her life in the last year yet.

This is my favourite romantic movie at the moment.
