How I Got Started

Like so many Nigerians, I was laid off from my job due to the Covid 19 pandemic. Things were pretty bad, and it was a struggle for the basic necessities of life. I was very down in my spirit and was feeling hopelessness taking its toll on me.

After the lockdown was lifted, I was privileged to meet my mentor and sponsor Ms. Brandi Callum. I reached out to her for a job and she hired me, (Although she wasn’t hiring). She began to teach me things, new things, new ways, and gave me hope. It seemed surreal and I had doubts, but she reassured me and made me believe that all things are possible with faith.

Ms. Callum introduced me to the Oil of Life Foundation (OILF). They partner with crowd Fund Raising teams to support NGOs, charitable projects, and enterprising youth. Withstanding all my doubts and fears, she stuck with me and my faith was strengthened, I decided to take the bold step and registered to become a member of the Oil of Life Foundation as an act of faith. Ms. Callum believes that sincere people must participate in their own success. I had to show her I was sincere, as she was giving me a foundation to build on.

I was very skeptical I won't lie. But she taught me about the power of Faith. Now, after only 7 weeks, I can see all kinds of possibilities.  My first ever interview which she hooked me up with was to interview an author, Minister Fray White. He wrote a book about faith called “Now Faith Is.”  It was amazing. I am slowly but surely replacing fear, doubt, despair, and hopelessness with faith, courage, hope, and confidence. He told me “Without faith, it is impossible to please God.”

As the Founder of the Oil of life Foundation, Ms. Callum’s long-time mission is to give seed to the sowers and a passion for helping the people of Nigeria. In fact, my second assignment was to interview 5 students "sowers". These were students from Nnamdi Azikiwe University and have started the Right -Thinking Youth Development Initiative (RTYDI) and are actively engaged in serving their community. RTYDI is also sponsored by the Oil of Life Foundation.  These students blew me away with their initiatives and the work they have done.   Ms. Callum has been a wonderful mentor, sponsor, and inspiration to me; and others.

She is shifting her focus to these student leaders now, so I have to fly.  I am so grateful; I want to do my part in taking the torch and helping others. So, please don't hesitate to register as a member of the Oil of Life Foundation. (find on “Telegram” Like Oil of Life Foundation on Facebook and follow Brandi Callum. I also believe together we can empower and lift each other up higher. Together we are stronger.  Ms. Callum is a Member of the International Association of Women.

  1. Thanks for sharing your vision with me. I am in awe of you and many of Nigeria's home grown youth. Kudos to the men and women, both parents and grandparents who raised you.
From watching the protest a couple of weeks ago, I believe the gentlemen out number the thugs. And you are quite a gentleman. I will challenge my fellow business men and women to
participate in mentoring, sponsoring and helping honest inspiring youth in business; or with business aspirations. And as you so gracefully stated, each of you should also bless and teach the next group of youth as you outgrow your current positions.

P.S. I can see you are the one out of 10.
